Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
EMC testing
Our laboratory performs the full range of EMC testing (Electromagnetic Compatibility or Electromagnetic Compatibility) types to a high standard and can also provide all related services according to our customers’ needs. EMC testing ensures that the product does not overload its environment with electromagnetic emissions or that the average level of electromagnetic interference from its environment does not prevent it from functioning.
Why is EMC testing important?
By performing EMC measurements, the safety and efficiency of the product’s operation can be verified. The criterion of safety means that electromagnetic disturbances generated during operation do not have a harmful effect on other devices in the product’s environment. The efficiency criterion means that the product is sufficiently resistant to electromagnetic interference from its environment.
The requirements of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) may differ from one another in the legal systems of individual countries, their fulfilment is mandatory for the product to be placed on the market in that country. Our laboratory carries out tests in accordance with the European Union directive 2014/30/EU, that is, with the report issued by us, the product meets the relevant EMC regulations of all EU countries.
What products do we test?
We carry out tests that measure conformity according to standards in accordance with the EMC directives of various electrical and electronic equipment and also development support tests. In addition, we can also carry out measurements that comply with other directives and the requirements of countries outside the EU. The most frequently tested product types in our laboratory are the following:
